The Ingredients & Process

Selection Lager and Selection Light brands are brewed to our exacting specifications using the finest ingredients from around the world.

Light-to-medium bodied, Selection Lager and Selection Light are slightly drier than typical lager and light beers. They are distinctly crisp and fresh, with a clean, mild aftertaste we think you will appreciate.

We use four primary ingredients to brew Selection Lager and Selection Light: malt (barley), hops, water and yeast. Corn syrup is introduced in the fermentation process.

  • The malt is produced from 100% western-Canada barley.
  • Both lagers have a lighter colour than typical lagers/ales, because we maintain a lower malt ratio and use less "black" malt.
  • The quality hops are sourced from the world’s top growing areas, including the United States, Europe and New Zealand.
  • The Selection lagers use 2 types of hops;
    • The bittering hop is Nuggets
    • The aroma hop is Hallertau
  • The hop bitters in both lagers are lower than a typical lager, creating a distinct and subtle finish that everyone will enjoy.
  • A special New Zealand hop is used, giving the beer a unique and alluring aroma that is both spicy and grassy.
  • The fermentation temperature for Selection is slightly higher than other lagers, bringing out more fruity and floral aromas.
